Didn’t realise Australia’s top-rated theme park/water park was on your doorstep? You do now!

Based on Trip Advisor user ratings for the 2014-2015 Season, Adventure World is now the highest ranked* theme park/water park in Australia and has thrown open its gates again for another magical season.

Adventure World has already staked its claim as the home of Australia's best roller coaster; but on 9th October will open the tallest, steepest and longest mega funnel waterslide on the planet.
The enormous world record-breaking slide is like no other waterslide ever built.

The ProSlide Tornado 60 waterslide drops 30 metres along the 260 metres of ride. The four-person raft must first negotiate over 150 metres of almost pitch black twists and turns including a heart-pounding drop and a 360 degree twist before dropping 8m almost vertically into the massive 60 foot funnel – which is about the height of a seven-storey building.

At this point riders can reach speeds up to 6.7 metres per second as they experience moments of zero gravity. Riders will feel they are just about to tip before gravity pulls them back to the bottom and up the other side and finally through the dark outrun flume and into the splash landing pool.

Adventure World CEO Mark Shaw says the slide was chosen for a number of critical reasons, “all of our attractions now and going forward have to have high hourly capacity so as to keep queues small. This slide can take 600 guests per hour due to its 4 person raft. The raft also means riders can have a slightly different experience on each ride as one time you may go down forwards, another time sideways or backwards! All of our rides/slides need to be shared experiences for all of the family or a bunch of friends. The average 7 year old will be able to ride with parents or an adult because the height limit is quite low at 120cm.

Once you’ve enjoyed the world’s biggest water slide, it’s time to experience the park’s $12million white-knuckle heart-stopper Abyss roller coaster, the raging Minotaur at Rampage or the giant spider at Black Widow.

Nautica is the new ‘land” dedicated to more thrilling water slides where the new mega slide takes pride of place. Other slides include Tidal Wave, Sea Serpents and Wahoo Speed Slides.

The ever-popular bumper boats, have been given a pirate-inspired makeover, complete with more bumping and interactive elements and renamed Buccaneer Battle. It is ready and waiting for some swashbuckling encounters.

According to Adventure World CEO Mark Shaw, the 2015/16 Season is set to exceed all expectations.

It’s time to experience Adventure World like never before,” he said. “It’s the second time in just three years that the park has invested in a world-class attraction. We’ll not only have the best roller coaster in Australia, but I truly believe this new mega-slide will be recognised by many as the best water slide experience in Australia”.

“From heart-pounding rides for adrenalin junkies, to magical musical stage shows and fairy-tales for the littlies, we’ve proudly taken our place on the national stage when it comes to theme parks/water parks,” Mr Shaw said.

Proving it’s a top all-rounder, Adventure World has earned high praise for everything from its customer service, to its new menus featuring food for dudes, new wines and beers, and plenty of healthy living options and was recently awarded the Trip Advisor certificate of Excellence in 2015.

This season there are even more private resort-style cabanas available for hire, including three new cabanas in Dragon’s Kingdom and three new poolside Hawaiian-themed cabanas near Kahuna Falls. All ten cabanas can now be booked online and come complete with sun loungers, secure storage for personal items, a fan and a fridge stocked with icy-cold bottled water. More shaded areas have been added and the sound system upgraded on the popular lawn areas for those long summer days.

Adventure World is all about making long lasting magical memories and what better way to capture some of those than through one of the parks many photo opportunities. New this year will be photos on the new mega-slide along with existing opportunities at Abyss, Dragon’s Kingdom and the Aussie Wildlife Experience. These can be conveniently savedon a standard wrist band and purchased at the end of the day from the new Photo collection kiosk at the exit.
